Paediatric first aid

1. the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider

2. deal with emergency situations safely

3. provide first aid to an infant or child who is 

a) unresponsive (CPR & use AED)

b)  choking

c) experiencing external bleeding

d) suffering shock

e) suffering  from a bite, sting, minor injury or specific illness

The 1 day Paediatric syllabus plus:

Provide first aid to an infant or child who has suspected 

a) injuries to bones, muscles & joints

b) head and spinal injuries

c) conditions affecting eyes, ears & nose

d) an acute medical illness or sudden illness

e) extreme of body temperature

f)  electric shock 

g) burns and scalds

h) poisoning

i) anaphylaxis
