We are Bruce Nisbet and Zofia Korabiowska-Smith.
We founded First Aid Training East Scotland (FATES) to combine our decades of experience in the emergency service and care sectors.
We have a passion for sharing our knowledge and experience with businesses, organisations and families, and for making First Aid training enjoyable.
Our aim is to help all of our learners feel prepared, confident and empowered in situations that require First Aid.
As members of the First Aid Industry Body, we keep our knowledge up to date continuously, with our own ongoing training and development.
Bruce retired from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in 2018 after nearly 30 years of service.
During his career in the Fire Service, Bruce worked in uniformed roles as a Firefighter, Crew Commander and Watch Commander, across various departments. He was responsible for managing both operational and non-operational roles and so has vast experience of working in a range of environments.
Bruce has also been a volunteer Community First Responder for the Scottish Ambulance Service.
He has held a First Aid qualification since 1988.
Zofia qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1985.
