SYFA

Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) First Aid Course

Our SYFA First Aid course syllabus gives SYFA approved coaches a set of first aid skills which ensures the initial treatment given to an injured player is appropriate, relevant and safe.

Whilst our First Aid Industry Body regulated and accredited Paediatric First Aid course is the cornerstone of the course,  Scottish Sports Concussion Guidance is also taught within the course syllabus.

This approach will give players and their families the confidence that should a player suffer an injury then SYFA qualified coaching staff and other club officials will be able to deliver First Aid with the confidence and skills required to manage the situation effectively.

How do you deliver the SYFA approved first aid course?

We can teach the course entirely  in person or as a blend of in person and online learning. It is your choice which course delivery method you want.

In person learning can be at the club’s premises or at mutually agreed third-party premises.

A blended learning course involves the learner undertaking an online module which equates to day 1 of the in person course and then one day in person for items not covered in the online module and the mandatory practical assessments.

Please be aware that in order to deliver our courses safely and comfortably for all learners, we have a few requirements for our teaching spaces. If a third-party venue is required, we can organise this in one of two ways:

  • We can source a suitable venue and add the cost of it to your course booking.
  • You can source the venue and pay for it independently.
